Slate Roof & Copper Gutters – Dean Parkway, MN

Located between the downtown lakes of Minneapolis, this historic home featured a slate roof nearly 100 years old. While still impressive for its age, cracked and broken tiles made it clear the roof needed restoration—something few materials besides slate could endure for so long.

Summit Construction Group is one of the few contractors in Minnesota specializing in slate roofing, and we take great pride in these detail-driven projects. This installation featured premium Vermont-blend slate, including extra-large, thick tiles, installed with a graduated exposure for a classic, high-end look.

To complete the design, we added custom copper elements, including half-round gutters, downspouts, chimney flashing, and a fabricated ridge cap. Over time, these copper features will naturally patina, adding even more character to the home.
